Our event takes place at the Silver Bay YMCA Retreat Center, a 100 year old facility that provides space for conferences, respite, retreats, weddings, summer camp for kids and events.
Silver Bay sits directly on Lake George, tucked in between the lake and the mountains. It is a one and a half hour drive north of Albany NY

Our 2026 staff

Stove Dragon – Oliver Scanlon and Rose Jackson fill the room with melodic lift and dynamic double-fiddle harmony, while Sam Zakon-Anderson and Max Newman are a beating heart of fiery piano-guitar groove. Hold on tight, it’ll be quite the ride!
Russet Trio – Known for their fluid syncopation and dynamic arrangements the trio blends Appalachian, Celtic, Folk, Blues and Pop influences with an effortless and original voice. Aldo Lavaggi on fiddle, Peter Madsen on guitar & percussion & Stuart Kenney on bass. They will be joined by Sammy Wetstein on cello, fiddle and accordion.


Steve Zakon-Anderson is aprominent contra dance caller, choreographer, and teacherbased in Hancock, New Hampshire. He is widely recognized in the New England folk dance community for his clear teaching style, energetic calling, and sense of humor.
Alex Deis-Lauby is a New York City based contra dancer, caller, teacher, and organizer. She is known for her clear teaching, smooth voice, and fun dance selection. She will be calling for contra dance.


Hijinks is Carrie Rose (flute), Miranda Weinberg (fiddle) and Kathy Talvitie (piano). They play for ECD evenings & special events. Recent events include Washington DC Ball, Princeton February Fling, Alexandria Ball ESCapades, Pitts Maggot, NYC Twelfth Night and Brasstown’s Spring Dance Weekend.
Alex & Audrey – Alex Cumming is a traditional singer, accordionist & pianist. You may have seen them playing for contra dance with the Red Case Band. Audrey Jaber is a vibrant fiddler and singer based in San Diego, CA. She plays in several contra dance band configurations including Wake Up Robin, Free Raisins and Lighthouse. They will be playing for English country dancing, couples dancing, squares, singing sessions & other shenanigans.


Joanna Reiner Wilkinson has taught English dance for over two decades. Her calling has taken her from Amherst to Ann Arbor, from NEFFA to Hey Days, from St. Croix to Vancouver, and other points abroad. Whether your new to ECD or an experienced, Joanna will delight.
Dereck Kalish will be running sound this year in the ECD hall AND calling for English country dance. He has provided sound for a wide variety of events, as well as calling for contra and English country dance.


Leslie Barr & Bob Walser will join us to play for Balfolk dance workshops, parties, sessions & classes. Since discovering Balfolk in the 1980s, Leslie has frequently traveled to France to study and perform. Bob is a Minneapolis-based musician, educator, and ethnomusicologist known for his extensive work in traditional folk music and dance. He is one of the world’s leading experts on maritime music, specifically sea shanties and sailors’ songs
Lynn Baumeister will teach our Balfolk workshops and lead the dance parties. We are excited to welcome Lynn back to ADK Weekend. She has been attending festivals in France for many years, and brings a wealth of teaching experience, presented with grace & great warmth.


Jesse Ball will be back to manage sound in the contra hall. In addition to sound management, Jesse plays in several bands, including River Road & Calico.
Alex Hennings will manage sound in the Boyd dance hall. He comes to us from Portland Maine, where he organizes the local contra dance.

Shared Bath options (men’s & women’s bathrooms down the hall from your room)

- Shared bath triple (three people per room) – $330 —All shared bath triple rooms with three beds are sold. Rooms with one double bed & one single bed are available.

The cabins have two or four bedrooms, housing four to eight people
Each cabin has a kitchen with refrigerator, stove & microwave, a living room with sofa & easy chairs, a shared bathroom and great porches.

STAY AT THE WILLIAM BOYD CENTER
All of our Boyd Center rooms are sold. Please select one of our other housing options.

These hotel style rooms are located on the 2nd floor above the dining hall. All have couches, queen or king beds & A/C. Some have balconies.

Two can register together, or register separately, for the same room.
We do not assign roommates for these rooms.

STAY OFF SITE — $180
- Stay at a local motel, airbnb or campground of your choice
- Access to all dancing and workshops (housing and meals not included)
- Onsite meals can be purchased individually or as a package
- All Meals Package (6 meals – Friday dinner through Sunday lunch) – $142
- All meals package is 6 meals for one person
- A la carte pricing: Breakfast – $18, Lunch – $21, Dinner – $32

WORK TRADE – $190
We offer a limited number of work trade opportunities (first come first served). Housing is in a double or triple room with a shared bath – two or three people per room.
Work assignments include:
- setup & breakdown (installing & removing dance floor, setting up & taking down chairs, tables equipment etc —you must be able to arrive in the early afternoon on Friday & stay for a short time at the conclusion of the weekend)
- lights (installing the dance hall lighting on Friday afternoon, and removing them on Sunday afternoon)
- evening snacks (prep, set out, maintain & clean up our evening snacks
- dance hall maintenance (regular sweeping of the dance floors, opening & closing windows, managing fans etc.)
- workshop spaces (setting out and taking down chairs, sweeping, general cleanup & assisting staff as needed)
- silent auction (set up on Friday late afternoon, maintaining through Saturday, and final checkout Saturday evening & Sunday morning)
