Dewey Hall’s “Young at Heart” series is family friendly and welcomes all ages. “Young at Heart” occurs weekly on Saturday mornings starting at 10am. The series will feature different art forms each week in an engaging light-hearted way. “Young at Heart” will take place outside at Dewey Hall. This event is funded in part by a grant from the DanceFlurry Organization.

About Intergenerational Family Dance:  Come kick up your heels to live fiddle music.  Enjoy a tradition of community dancing and music handed down from generation to generation. We play music and get everyone involved – from ages 2 to 102 — especially those who have not danced before, in easy-to-learn American barn dance favorites: circles, squares, contras (all modified for physical — not social — distancing), as well as a few international folk (French, African, Turkish, Chinese, Russian, Israeli, Polynesian, Scandinavian, Latin American, and more) dances.

The toe-tapping music consists of reels, jigs, polkas, hornpipes, and waltzes.  While participation in the dancing is encouraged — and it’s hard to sit still — it’s fun to just listen to the music and watch too!
