It’s time to put your Dancin’ shoes on! The Teresa Broadwell Quintet returns to the Albany 1st Friday Swing Dance. They’ll be playing Swing, Standards, Boogie and Jump tunes tailored for East Coast Swing enthusiasts. Formerly know as “Thrivin’ On A Riff”, Broadwell’s band has played for swing dances in Rochester, Ithaca, Poughkeepsie, Rhinebeck, Albany and at many other public and private events over the past 30 years. Veterans of the Albany 1st Friday Swing Dance may remember that this dance started in 1992 and has been thrivin’ ever since!
The Teresa Broadwell Quintet returns to the Albany 1st Friday Swing Dance. Her band swung the house last year to great acclaim. A wonderful, enthusiastic, youthful dancer Sarrah Aliewie will instruct the East Coast Swing Lesson and DJ. Plan on doing a Snowball dance at the band break! Then we will do a SHIM SHAM to the band LIVE right after the break. THIS WILL BE BIG. Don’t miss.
Sarrah Aliewie dance bio: I found swing dancing and absolutely fell in love with it. I began traveling to any dance event I could find to take workshops and social dance. In the past year I’ve been attending events everywhere from North Carolina to Montréal and everywhere in between. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned with people who love dancing just as much as I do!!
Proof of vaccine is no longer required. Stay home if you feel sick, or were in close contact with someone who tested positive. Masks are not required, but are welcome.Volunteers needed!
