FRIDAY, 7/12 MAIN DANCE 8:00 PM – 12:00 AM
Blue Soul has been a collaborative effort between Marcelle Johnson and Bryan Brundige, featuring some of the best gospel singers and performers in Albany. It is a cross pollination of genres and scenes, putting together Soul/R&B/Funk with church musicians, and sprinkling in the blues, all while focusing on making their audience shake everything they’ve got. Over the last few months, the band has been playing a monthly Soul Night in Albany, NY.

8:00 pm – 9:00 pm: All levels dance lesson
9:00 pm – 12:00 pm: Soul & Blues Dance

Blues. Bonfire. Not Blues. Beanbags. Wee-hours river swimming*! Dancing under the stars, on a floor with who-knows-how-much tilt to it. The Friday Late Night House Party takes place in Glenville, about a half hour from Albany. Address available at Friday dance.

With nearly two decades of experience Mirabile has developed a cult following of those who greatly appreciate his level of passion for traditional blues music. Matt has assembled a very special band lineup just for ALBS featuring none other than harmonica ace Ted Hennessy. A night you do not want to miss!!

Joshua Fialkoff lends his smoky voice and unique piano stylings – a veritable gumbo of “roots piano” flavors – to dance exchanges and series around the world, and has been doing so for over ten years. Joshua is known for his unique arrangements that are at once new and old, and an authenticity and rawness that shines through in his presence and performance.
