Calling all Flurry Dancers!! The Flurry Festival 2012 is almost here! It's the 25th anniversary. Since 1994 we've been at the Saratoga City Center. During this time, we've made numerous improvements, many in direct response to comments and suggestions from festival goers.
One of the most frequent comments, not yet addressed, has been that the we need to do something about the hard floors in the large dance halls. To respond to this request, the DanceFlurry Organization (DFO) has finally initiated the Great DanceFlurry Floor Project. (The DFO is the non-profit organization that sponsors the festival, as distinct from the Flurry Festival committee that actually runs the event. ) What better year to take on this challenge than our 25th!
Inspiration: We took inspiration from the Roadhouse dance floor at the Northwest Folklife Festival in Seattle, Washington state. Their floor project has been going since 1987.
Project Goal: To install a full set of portable 'sprung' floor panels in the large contra hall (Room D) at the Saratoga City Center - within 5 years. (Of course, if fundraising goes well, the goal could be achieved sooner!)
Why Do This? Installing sprung flooring on top of concrete floors will significantly improve the quality of the dance experience at the Flurry - less risk of injury, less fatigue, more lift and most importantly, more fun.
Try Out the Demo Floor in Room D: At this year's Flurry, a 4-panel demo floor will be on display in Room D. We think you'll agree that the floor feels great.

Donations Towards the Purchase of Floor Panels:
Donate Now or at the Flurry.
$200 buys one panel, $100 - 1/2 panel, $50 - 1/4 panel, $25 - 1/8 panel.
It will take 304 panels to cover the whole floor.
Donor Acknowledgement Honor Board: The Great DanceFlurry Floor Honor Board in Room D will recognize donors who have helped make the sprung floor dream come true. For a donation of $50 or more, we will inscribe your name, your family name or the name of a special person you wish to honor. Be among the first to put your name on the Honor Board.
Early Bird Donor Reward: The first 25 people to donate $200 or more will receive a Great DanceFlurry Floor Project T-shirt with the message: "It'll feel like dancing on a cloud" (See photo).
Inquiries: Direct all inquiries to Don Bell, Vice-President, DanceFlurry Organization, danceinfo@danceflurry.org
